Île d’Yeu offers breathtaking landscapes! The island, set in the Atlantic ocean, is only 23-square-kilometre big but its natural environment will blow your mind!

Long beaches and high dunes, unspoiled coastline with majestic cliffs and golden sand little creeks, short grass moors, small picturesque paths in the coombs... One day on île d’Yeu means …

Hiking or riding your bicycle on the coastline to make one with nature – hiking paths are just remarkable – tasting fish and seafood at a small restaurant in port Joinville, taking a selfie in front of a Dolmen then climbing up the Grand Phare – “great lighthouse” – and spotting the Vieux Château – “old castle”…

How to get to île d’Yeu ?

If you want to go to « Oya », then you need to swim or fly!
Like in every fisherman’s town, life’s pace is dictated by tides… Take the boat in Fromentine or Saint Gilles Croix de Vie. If you’re in a rush, hop on a helicopter at La Barre de Monts.

An island with energetic vibes

Night birds will just love Île d’Yeu’s energetic atmosphere! In the evening, the streets come to life and the small cafes turn into concert halls much to the tourists’ delight.

Do not miss the « Viens dans mon île » – « come to my island » – festival every year on the first week of August.

Make a stop at Ile d’Yeu while you’re staying in Vendée or Charente-Maritime, or book at one of our campsites near the island to discover Vendée’s wild coastline.
