Discover the city of Bordeaux and the Garonne valley
Discovering the city of Bordeaux.
You probably know Bordeaux is the world capital city of wine but have you ever heard of « Port de La Lune », the part of town which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site?
Varied cultural activities, fantastic heritage, shops and leisurely activities for all ages and all tastes. Just have a blast in Bordeaux but do not leave the city without seeing place de La Bourse and its “water mirror” and without tasting a cannelé.
Bordeaux and its surroundings: from the wine route to Val de Garonne.
You can pick up any of the 6 wine routes starting outside Bordeaux. One of them will lead you to Saint-Émilion and its medieval town, another one to Blaye and its citadel conceived by Vauban – both are UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
More to the South, after the Graves, Sauternes, Pessac, Yquem and Entre-deux-mers vineyards, let the river Garonne guide you and discover its valley, also known as Val de Garonne, its dolce vita vibe and many picturesque villages near Marmande: Tonneins, Clairac, Couthures sur Garonne, Le Mas d’Agenais, Meilhan sur Garonne… down to Nérac by the river Baïse, not very far from Agen.
