Camping in Médoc : Médoc by the ocean or in the vineyards.
Camping in Médoc by the ocean.
Start your vacation in Médoc with a visit of Cordouan’s lighthouse. It is nicknamed « the Versailles of the seas » and stands at the gate of Gironde’s estuary, the largest in Europe.
You can then set camp at a 3, 4 or 5-star campsite, in a rented accommodation or on a camping pitch by the sea. You can also go camping a few kilometres from the wonderful beaches of Médoc in Soulac, Grayan l’Hôpital, Montalivet, around the lake between Carcans and Hourtin, or even head to Lacanau. The latter is a well-known surfing spot, home of an exciting and spectacular contest named Lacanau Pro held in August.
Médoc is also great to discover bicycle riding along Vélodysée for instance or via the multitude of bicycle paths that run across the pine forests.
Camping in Médoc in the vineyards – wine tourism experience.
Saint-Julien, Margaux, Saint-Estèphe, Pauillac, Moulis-en-médoc - these world famous and prestigious names are a thrill for all wine amateurs (please remember to drink responsibly of course).
It is also an opportunity to have a day out with your friends or family and visit Haut Médoc’s estates and castles or explore the lesser known 8 islands of the Gironde estuary – Ile Verte, l’Ile Nouvelle and Ile Paté are the most famous.
